Condo Parking Lighting With 20 Foot Poles Case Study
This project involved designing and installing a lighting solution for a parking lot in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to meet specific local ordinance requirements. The goal was to ensure proper illumination for safety and visibility while adhering to the ordinance criteria for average illumination and uniformity ratio.
The local ordinance design criteria stipulated the following:
- Average Illumination: No greater than 3 footcandles
- Uniformity Ratio: No greater than 10:1
The project needed a lighting design that balanced effective illumination with compliance, ensuring the parking lot was safe, visually appealing, and energy-efficient.
Parking Lot Lighting Design
Our professional lighting engineers designed a solution that utilized:
- Six 20-foot, 4-inch square steel poles
- Six 140W commercial-grade area lights
The 140W LED area lights provided excellent lumen output while maintaining energy efficiency. Each light was carefully positioned to maximize coverage and minimize glare and light spillage.
Fixture Type: 150 Watt LED Area Light
